Depends of how you define. We are making a soft AGI.
We are just imitating a 'complete' representation of what an organism do to build the reality. Remember you're just electric currents which your neurons give meaning. "You" are also a meaning.
We think we know also how to measure "consciousness". If its true we will explore it in 3-5 years more.
